What's a podcast?
A podcast is series of audio or video files that has been set up in
such a way that it will automatically download to your computer each
time a new episode is posted. Assuming your podcast reader is running
it will automatically check to see if a new episode has been posted.
In order to take advantage of this feature, you will need a podcast reader such as Apple's iTunes
which is available for both Mac and PC systems. If you do have a reader
installed, all you need to do is click on the podcast button in the
right margin and it should automatically launch your podcast reader and
begin downloading the current episode. It will also show you a list of
all the past episodes and allow you to download those into your reader
as well.

Dan reads and discusses a letter from AA historian Dick B., which talks about the fact that there are numerous methods and philosophies for treating alcoholism many of which have mixed results at best, but none are as effective as simply entrusting your life to God and asking Him to show you the way to health and wholeness - a philosophy which Dick believes is the foundation of AA and 12 Step methods. Dick aslo talks about how Christians mistakenly view AA as not being a God-centered program and might discourage or be discouraged from joiing the fellowship. DICK B. BOOKS

In honor of Easter, Dan talks about letting the alcoholic die so that you may live. A raging alcholic is a lot like a zombie - dead to the ways of life and the ways of properly dealing with its ups and downs. When things are good, an alcoholic celebrates by getting drunk. When things are bad, and alcoholic hides from the emotions by getting drunk. They become a zombie. Let that zombie die so that the clean and sober human being which you were born can come back to life and live it to the fullest.

In the early stages of sobriety, and throughout life, there are bound to be challenges to your sobriety. As time goes on and you learn how to properly deal with the challenges that life throws at you, those temptations become weaker and have less and less power to threaten your mental health, happiness and sober living. Eventually you should be able to get to the point where no matter what life throws at you, you can say, "Is that all you've got?"
